He started his career in international expansions, relying heavily on the creation of alliances in order to form long-term relationships that provide lasting benefits to all parties involved. Juergen started his own companies, worked with start-ups and created spin-offs in order to optimize company growth. Many of his engagements involved turnarounds of companies in order to bring them back on track. Juergen also worked on many transactions in the licensing field, adding value to businesses through in-licensing or out-licensing of technologies. A hot topic that he has been working on for many years are mergers & acquisitions, which take special skill from a management perspective to make them successful. One of the most interesting experiences from a cultural diversity perspective was his engagement as CEO of a company in South Korea, which Juergen bought on behalf of a Swiss-American investor group, which served as a cornerstone to acquire another business in Europe and third one in the USA, creating a global life science company in a specific application area within 2 years from scratch.

Juergen has more than 20 years of teaching and lecturing experience, mostly with business executives and business-minded scientists. He enjoys sharing his know-how and has lectured on a wide variety of business subjects in Europe, Asia and the USA. The list below shows the breadth of topics that Juergen has lectured on. His longest teaching engagement has been with the Salzburg Management Business School, where he has been a lecturer teaching “International Strategic Marketing” in their Master of International Business program, since 2002. The focus of Juergen’s teaching activities since 2018 has been on his latest developed program called Transaction Based Growth Management™, where he shares his experience in making a wide array of transactions work at conferences and through training courses for senior executives. Core Education

Juergen has started out his core education a Certificate in Industrial Engineering from the TGM in Vienna, Austria. After several years of work experience he supplemented his practical know-how in international business with a Certificate in International Trade from the Wirtschaftsuniversität in Vienna, Austria. After further practical work experience as manager and entrepreneur, Juergen was accepted to London Business School in the UK, where he completed his MBA in 1999. In order to support his teaching career, he completed also the Discussion Leadership Program at Harvard Business School in the USA, which teaches educators on how to teach with the famous Harvard Business School Case Study Method.
